Crusaders leave everything on field vs St Francis

Posted Sunday, November 13, 2005 by Mike ODonnell

The Crusaders played their hearts out last night at St John's Univ. Coming from behind 14-7 with under 4 minutes to go, the Crusaders staged a scoring drive. Nick Venice scored with 2 minutes to go. When St Francis went offsides the crusaders went for win & Venice punched it in to take a 15 -14 lead with about 2:30 remaining. St Francis came back on next possesion conecting on a 50 yd TD pass to take back lead. Francis went for two . Star running back Jeff Aime was handed the ball at 3 , went to his left where he was met wityh one of the hardest hits HS football has ever seen. Paul Mohan stood him up leaving Aime dazed. The crusaders didn'tt quit, they took kickoff & drove to the 15 yd line before they ran out of time. It was very disappointing for game to end that way but the Crusaders played the best game they had all season. GGod luck to the Crusaders vs White Plains!
