Eric Ogbogu's days as a Cowboys defensive end in three words? Eh. Not bad.
Eric Ogbogu's commercial acting career in three words? Pow! Direct hit.
Ogbogu is the original Under Armour dude, the menacing figure who is pretty serious about protecting his house. ("We must protect this house!")
Eric Ogbogu is back pitching Under Armour. The signature ad debuted three years ago. Two weeks ago at the ESPYs, Under Armour debuted its latest ad, a 90-second mini-movie. (You can see it at UnderArmour.com.) The third chapter in the "Protect This House" campaign once again features Ogbogu and also includes Cowboys running back Julius Jones, Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma and Bengals linebacker David Pollack. It features a retrospective of Ogbogu's "Big E" character from childhood football, through college ball and into the pros.
By the way, if you're feeling tough today, go stare down one of those chiseled Under Armour mannequins you see at sporting good stores. Company officials didn't want to see their clothes hanging indignantly off some skinny stick-figure mannequin. So they had artists in Hollywood precisely sculpt Ogbogu's frame, then used it as a life-size mold for national mannequin distribution.
