Former Crusader Coach & Player Brendan Nugent is Hired by the Bears !

The Chicago Bears announced the hiring Tuesday of offensive quality control coache Brendan Nugent

Nugent worked under new Bears coach Marc Trestman with the Montreal Alouettes in 2012 as an assistant on special teams and offensive quality control coach. Prior to joining the Alouettes, Nugent worked for five seasons (2001-11) at William & Mary as running backs and tight ends coach.

Nugent began his college coaching career at the University of Iowa as an undergraduate assistant working with the offense. Brendan Started his coaching career as a LB coach at Archbishop Stepinac in 2005. Brendan played  at Stepinac & graduated in 2000. Nugent played  college football at Catholic University for 3 years in Washingtn DC.






Brendan Nugent is in his first season with the Bears after being named the offensive quality control coach on January 29, 2013.

Nugent spent 2012 in Montreal under head coach Marc Trestman as the Alouettes assistant on special teams and offensive quality control coach. He spent the previous five seasons (2007-11) at William & Mary coaching both the running backs and tight ends. He started in the collegiate coaching ranks in 2005 at the University of Iowa as the Hawkeyes offensive undergraduate assistant, a position he held for two years. Nugent got his first coaching job at Archbishop Stepinac High School in his hometown of White Plains, New York, overseeing the linebackers in 2004. Collegiately he played linebacker for three seasons at Catholic University of America.
