High school football rankings for week of 9/13/10.
Hudson Valley/Westchester: Top 10 Rankings
1. New Rochelle (1-0):
Don’t let the 14-7 win over North Rockland fool you. Had the Huguenots not fumbled four times in the second half, the score would have been a lot different.
2. Monroe-Woodbury (2-0):
The Crusaders have picked up where they left off from last season despite all the roster turnover.
3. Stepinac (1-0):
Major statement made by beating Iona Prep. But now it’s up to the Crusaders to go unbeaten through their AA Division schedule.
4. White Plains (1-0):
The Tigers dominated Suffern in their season opener behind a terrific three-touchdown effort from Terelle Eaton.
5. Arlington (1-0):
Another team that has a revamped roster yet doesn’t seem to miss a beat.
6. John Jay-EF (1-0):
Few teams will be able to match the physicality of the Patriots, nor will they have an answer for running back Brendan Ercoli.
7. Rye (1-0):
The Garnets’ defense is going to cover up the early struggles of the Rye running game, which will improve every week.
8. North Rockland (0-1):
Hard to drop the Red Raiders out of the Top 10 completely after losing by seven points to New Rochelle. There’s plenty of promise here.
9. Harrison (1-0):
The Huskies’ opening day dominance over Roosevelt definitely turned heads in Class A. But can they stay healthy?
10. Scarsdale (1-0):
The surprise team of Week 1 deserves a spot in the rankings after an impressive comeback win over Ketcham.
On the brink:
Wallkill (2-0); Bronxville (1-0); Mahopac (1-0); Ketcham (0-1); Nyack (1-0); Poughkeepsie (1-0); John Jay (1-0); Horace Greeley (1-0).
