Stepinac Football is represented at Yesterday's communion breakfast & Senior bowl

It was a great day yesterday at Kellenberg HS where all 20 schools were represented at the annual CHSFL communion breakfast & Senior Bowl. Mass was celebrated at 9:30 at Kellenberg followed by the communion breakfast that had 600 people attend.
Honored at Breakfast were CHSFL ALL League players: Caleb Gilligan -Evans, Tyrell Goodman, Donnie Simmons, Josh Powell & Andrea Gigi.
The league also honored Players of week: Tyrell Goodman & Josh Powell.
The Seniors participating in Senior Bowl were also honored: Joe Telesco [ injured] Andrea Gigi, James Mullin, Josh Powell, John Golebiowski & Jayqun Shanklin.
The league gave out the championship trophy's to respected teams. Stepinac recieved it's Howie Smith Memorial Award for winning the2009 Varsity AA Division Championship with an 8-0 regular season.
Players of year were then given out- the runner up AA Vince O' Connor Def player of year was Donnie Simmons of Archbishop Stepinac.
The Joseph R Riverso Memorial Award - runner up was awarded to Tyrell Goodman.
The league also honored it's Golden 11Scholar Athletes- Stepinac James Mullin was a honorble mention for that award.
At 1:30 the Senior Bowl kicked off at Mitchell field . Cold & breezy conditions were aided by some welcome sun. The play on the field was fast & furious. The Stepinac Boys did a great job to represent our school & ther families by making some great plays. Long Island all stars went on to a 7-0 vicotry , but it was a great day for the entire CHSFL & Stepinac Crusaders.
