Posted Monday, December 03, 2007 by The Pit Reporter

Everyone woke up to a winter storm coming thru our area Sunday morning. But the Crusaders all traveled out to Long Island for the CHSFL Communion breakfast & Senior bowl. At Breakfast our JV team received its regular season league trophy for finishing 7-0 in CHSFL regular season play. Players of week were also honored- Rashaad Slowley, Maurice Easterling, Anthony Mateo & Ben Bruckenthal. All league players received their awards- Slowley, Easterling, Hunt, Bruckenthal & Rziemienwski. The senior bowl players also were awarded plaques- Brian Hill, Tony Scarnati, Anton Rukaj, Ben Bruckenthal, Justin Caba, Rashaad Slowley & Anthony Mateo.
Rashaad Slowley was awarded the best Offensive player in AA- A award over a star studded field voted on by opposing coaches.
Maurice Easterling was voted finalist in Def Player of year in AA- A by opposing coaches.

The NY city team which was coached by coaches O'D, Demarco, Spags & Patsy went out to a snow filled Mitchell field & fought to a 14-14 tie. A field goal attempt from 44 yards was just wide in final seconds of game by city team. It was an enjoyable, but very cold day for all involved. Congratulations to all players on their honors. Stepinac is very proud of your accomplishments.
