Friday Night in Brooklyn! Who turned the lights out?

Posted Saturday, September 29, 2007 by The Pit Reporter
The Varsity football team traveled out to Aviators Sports Complex on Friday evening to face the Kingsmen from Nazareth. After finishing warmups & retreating to locker room for last minute instructions, the Crusaders marched onto the field to find the lights went out. It took about 45 minutes for lights to come back on, but that was the only thing that would slow the Crusaders down. Coming off a very tough & physical double overtime loss, this game was what the doctor ordered. The Doctor also gave Rashaad Slowley clearance to get back on the field. Rashaad Slowley returned from his ankle injury to have 120 yards on 6 carries & scored 4 TD's. It was nice to see #5 running around the field again after a three week layoff because of injury. Maurice Easterling had 15 carries 180 yds & 1 TD. Joe Collins was 5-7 for 80 yds 2 td passes. The defense played very hard keeping Nazareth at bay all evening. Blake Rzemienieski had a 20 yd TD fumble return. Linebackers Mateo & Hunt had strong games again. Crusaders recorded numerous sacks but highlight of night when Chris Colon came up with his first sack of season in fourth quarter.
Varsity will take on Cardinal Hayes for the Bishop Dubois trophy 7PM Sat evening
