This Weeks poll: Best lineman won by Angelo Troiano

You voted & the results are in. Angelo Troiano Off & Def lineman was voted the best lineman in this group. Coach Troiano, who was part of Varsity staff last year has decided to coach in Yonkers this year . Angelo is a Teacher in Yonkers school system, we wish Coach good luck this season. & Thank you for giving back to Stepinac. Angelo was a outstanding lineman for Crusaders & who could forget his emotional speech on Riverso night last year. We might have to invite him back for a guest appearance this year. Angelo went on to play his college ball at CW Post , where he was named captain his senior year.

Coming in second place is non other than Capt Lou. Lou Albano the famed Wrestler was in the first graduating class form Stepinac. Lou always kids he graduated #1 in his class because his name began with an "A". Lou actually stopped at Finn McCool's last month to say hi & remember his Stepinac roots. Lou also had a long managing career in wrestling & did a couple of TV shows [ Mario Man]. He was always famous for his rubber bands in his beard & his great work with the ugly Bartender contest each year which raised unbelievable funds to fight MS.

Next in Poll was Rich Holzer. A bruising Tackle who was junior on our 95 championship team. Holzers hit knocked Kellenbergs QB out of game to help lead Stepinac to it's AA Championship that year. Rish went on to a four year ride at Hofstra. Rich now is a teacher & coach up in Conn.

Mike Jednek played on the 1984 team. He was all everything Tackle & DT. He went on to Play at Holy Cross on a scholarship with Gordie Lockbaum.

Chris Giardini a great Tackle who is continuing his caree at Colgate. Chris injured his shoulder last year & is recovering.
