Posted Sunday, October 01, 2006 by The Pit Reporter

Coming off a big win last week, the Stepinac J.V football team wanted to prove to the league that they were for real. To do this, they would have to beat Fordham. The game did not start as the Crusaders wanted. Fordham scored quick and easy on a long pass. Right before half Fordham was winning 14-6, before a trick play pass from Brian Balhousa to William Mcaffrey for a Stepinac Touchdown. This tied the game 14-14 going into half. Coming out in the second half the Crusaders dominiated. The offensive was lead by Quarterback Joe Collins and fullback John Fushetto. Joe played a great game through the air, and john had over 100 total yards. Offensive linemen Peter Newbaurer and Angel Diaz also played great. Tailbacks Joe Guerra and Daryl Shuyler also had great games. This was the best game for the Offensive line.
Defense shutout Fordham in the second half. Which was lead by linebackers Larry Favata, Michael Mcrae, and Ryan Hunt. The Secondary and defensive line also played solid games. Defensive end Brian Douglas had a big sack. Final Score 34-14.
