Last Saturday morning's football game between the freshman of Archbishop Stepinac and Bishop Ford of Brooklyn became a memorable experience as the boys won their very first game as Crusaders. The game opened up with a long drive led by quarterback, Thomas Decker, who ended the game with one rushing and one passing touchdown. The Crusaders defense would then give up one touchdown in the first quarter and then allowed no points until the final seconds of the fourth quarter.
They made the score 16-6 on a quarterback sneak from the one yard line by Tommy Decker as the second quarter clock expired. The second half had many tough runs from fullback, Vincent Datino, who also had one touchdown rushing. The next score came on a power reverse to wide receiver, James Mullen, from 30 yards out. The defense got the final score as linebacker, Zack Avalos, intercepted a pass and returned it 40 yards for the touchdown. The final score was 28-12.
