Coach Wilson carried many honors on the gridiron that Crusader players will benefit by his model. He played during his under-graduate career at Louisiana State and was the first true freshman to start a season opener in school history in 1992. That same year
he would also make the All Southeast Conference team also as a freshman. In his senior year, Coach Wilson was 2nd Team All
SEC, and notably the only solo team captain in LSU history. He also won his team’s Most Valuable Player award as well. His
out-
standing performance also won him the Eric Andolsek Award in 1995 as well. In his season finale during his senior season he
par-
ticipated in the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana.
As his playing days at LSU came to completion, Coach Wilson caught the attention of the NFL. In 1996 he was an undrafted roo
kie
who made the Houston Oilers as a free agent. He would play both wide receiver and special teams for the Oilers. In the summ
er
of
1997, he would participate as an allocated player in the World League, starring for the Barcelona Dragons, where he would be
named All World League as a receiver. In 1998, he signed as a free agent for the Philadelphia Eagles.
